The orange and walnuts elevate this traditional holiday relish to a delicious side dish for any feast.

Fresh-Cranberry-Relish

 1 (12-ounce) package fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained
 1 unpeeled orange, cut into eighths and seeded
 3/4 to 1 cups granulated sugar
 ½ cup chopped walnuts, optional

Place half the cranberries and half the orange slices in food processor container. Process until mixture is evenly chopped. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining cranberries and orange slices.

Stir in sugar. If using, add walnuts.

Store in refrigerator or freezer. This dish is better made the day before you serve it.
