In India, chai is more than just a cup of tea to start the day. Chai is the answer to a hectic day at work, the perfect "warm" ice-breaker for social awkwardness, or the go-to drink for coping with stress. Chai can be enjoyed in all seasons with friends, family, or just by yourself.
In a saucepan on medium-high heat, pour water, tea, coconut sugar, cardamom pods. ginger and tea masala.
Let it boil for 5 minutes, which will enhance and meld all of the flavors.
After 5 minutes add the oat milk, and bring it to a gentle boil. Do not overboil.
Remove from the stove, strain, and serve.
Serves: 2 to 3
Note:
For this recipe, oat milk is highly recommended to get the consistency just right. Almond and soy milk can leave an aftertaste and have a watery consistency.
