Golden Milk

Golden-Milk
Enjoy a warming cup of Golden Milk! This vibrant blend of herbs and spices supports the immune system, stimulates the digestive system, and eases inflammation.

Ingredients

2 cups plant-based milk, unflavored (oat, almond, coconut, soy, etc.)
2 to 3 medjool dates, pitted
1-inch piece fresh turmeric root, peeled and sliced or ½ teaspoon ground turmeric*
1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
 ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
 ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
 1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (optional)
Garnish
 Dash of ground cardamom

Instructions

1

Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Secure lid tightly (caution: turmeric stains!) and blend on high speed until fully liquified. Pour into a small saucepan and heat to a low boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. (If you have a Vitamix, you can just blend on the “hot soup” setting for 3 to 4 minutes, until it’s steaming when blender lid is removed).

2

Pour into mugs and top with a dash of ground cardamom.

3

Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.

4

Variations: Add ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon grated nutmeg, and/or ¼ teaspoon allspice.

*Note: If you don’t have fresh turmeric, use ½ teaspoon ground turmeric.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen which restores vitality, calms the mind, and promotes restful sleep.
