Hibiscus Iced Tea (Agua de Jamaica)

Hibisscus-Iced-Tea
A refreshing drink for hot summer days!

Ingredients

 ½ cup dried hibiscus flowers (flor de Jamaica)
 1 cinnamon stick
 4 cups cold water
 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup or sweetener of your choice
 Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

Place hibiscus flowers and cinnamon stick in large jar or bowl. Add water. Cover and refrigerate overnight (8 to 12 hours).

Strain, add sweetener of choice.

Serve over ice with lime wedges.

Optional aromatics to steep with the hibiscus: sliced fresh ginger, star anise, dried orange peel, allspice, or lemongrass.
